DeLonghi - Coffee machine

The coffee machine can be used to make both regular coffee (or a lungo) and espresso. It must be filled with whole beans and water as needed. A warning appears if more water is needed or the container with coffee grounds needs to be emptied.

As shown in the picture below, it is the button row in the middle of the machine that is used to operate the machine. At the top of the left row of buttons you will find the on and off button. The machine switches off automatically if it is not used. Leave the steel espresso cup underneath when starting up and after use, so that the water that is rinsed out during cleaning is collected and can easily be emptied into the sink.

The wheel in the middle is used to adjust the amount of coffee to be ground and will not normally be used. To make a cup of coffee, press the symbol showing one cup. If two cups of coffee are to be made, place the cups next to each other so that the finished coffee can fill both cups. Then press the symbol showing two cups. The buttons on the right will give a coffee lungo or regular coffee, and the buttons on the left will give espresso.

On the right side of the machine you will find the water container which is pulled out to fill with water when needed.
To add more whole beans, open the lid at the top, at the back of the machine. You will hear the coffee grinder work differently when there are no beans to grind and several lights will light up if there are no beans left. In that case, just add more beans and press the button to make a cup or two again.
If there is a need to empty the coffee grounds, a light will come on and you will find the container on the front of the machine, behind the small pipes where the finished coffee flows out.
